Game 152: Yankees @ Angels, 9/22/09

Below, as per Pete Abraham, are tonight’s lineups.  Brett the Jet steps into the starting lineup for Melky.  Otherwise, the regulars take the field.  The Yankees look to return to 40 games above .500, to reduce the magic number to clinch the East, and to regain the game lost in the loss column back from the Angels.  Gaudin must be good tonight, and hopefully the Yanks can work over Santana, a talented pitcher but one who has had a rough year.  Respond and win tonight, guys.  Enjoy the game, everyone.

YANKEES (95-56)
Jeter SS
Damon LF
Teixeira 1B
Rodriguez 3B
Matsui DH
Posada C
Cano 2B
Swisher RF
Gardner CF

Pitching: RHP Chad Gaudin (1-0 3.68).

ANGELS (90-60)
Figgins 3B
Izturis 2B
Abreu RF
Guerrero DH
Hunter CF
Morales 1B
Rivera LF
Aybar SS
Mathis C

Pitching: vs. RHP Ervin Santana (7-8, 5.43).

  1. Hmmm….could Gaudin (of all people) steal that #4 starting spot from Joba? It sure is looking so at present.

  2. One can make that case, Mike. He has been better, and that’s fine with me. Damn anyone’s egos right now. The point is to win, period.

  3. You remember how “uncle Joe” hates the Angels? I think both of us want Michael Vick to visit the Rally Monkey ;-)

  4. Nice K by Gaudin of a tough two-strike hitter in Abreu.

  5. I sure miss Uncle Joe, Mike. He must have been thrilled by the Giants’ spoiling Dallas’s new stadium opener.

    That rally monkey must die.

  6. 200 hits for Jeter!

  7. Then Jeter stole second, 27 SB.

  8. Brett the jet was great!
    Fun game to be at!

    Go yanks!
