About

I am married to a great woman, and we have two terrific kids.  I am currently working on my Ph.D. in US and labor history at a major university in the Midwest. In addition to being an avid Yankees fan, I am a close follower of politics, news, and current events.  I also enjoy spending time with the family, basketball, reading, exercise, cooking, movies, comedies, and the outdoors.

  1. Hello,

I wanted to let you know that you do a wonderful job following the New York Yankees, and I enjoy reading your blog. Your site gives an interesting and fresh perspective on the happenings of the Bronx.

As an avid sports fan and follower, I started my own Yankees blog entitled Heartbeat of the Bronx (http://heartbeatofthebronx.blogspot.com/). Peter Abraham was impressed with my work, and has added me to his blogroll on The LoHud Yankees Blog. It is an honor that we share, and something that I truly cherish.

If you were able to give feedback for my site and add me to your list of Yankees blogs, it would mean a lot. I hope to hear from you soon, but keep up the excellent work regardless. You represent a great tool for fans to use in order to stay current with the tri-state area’s favorite team. Take care.

    Sincerely,

Stephen Meyer (Heartbeat of the Bronx)

  2. Hi there,

Similar to Stephen above, I’ve recently begun a blog of my own, to be found a http://www.theyankeesdollar.blogspot.com. I’d really appreciate an add to your blog roll, and would happily reciprocate with a link here on my site.

Either way, I’ll be back to read more soon. Cheers for running such a great site.

    Best,

    Will

  3. Hi,
I’d appreciate it if you would post the link to my new website, http://www.1978Yankees.com/ It’s about my new book, The Greatest Comeback Ever: A fan’s daily diary of the 1978 New York Yankees Championship Season. It’s the only book ever written by a fan, live-time on a great sports season–available at Amazon.com.

Thanks for your help to get the good word out about my new book.

  4. Hi there, i am the owner of http://www.demolitionofyankeestadium.com and we were wondering if you would be interested in swapping blogroll links with us.

    Thanks,
    Joe

  5. Hi,

Just wanted to draw your attention to Marty Appel’s new bio on Thurman Munson–MUNSON: Life and Death of a Yankee Captain. It’s in stores July 7th and is a real definitive account of the champion, written by a true insider. http://www.randomhouse.com/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780385522311. I’d be happy to send you an early review copy for your blog if interested.

    Best,

    Jillian

  6. You’re a great Yankee fan and have a great blog. On Politics you look out in left but if you live we’ll get you. Email me sometime. FYI History will treat Limbaugh as it has the Founders. He is a great man and lover of liberty.
“We all declare for liberty;but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same-liberty. And it follows that each of the things is ,by respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names-liberty and tyranny
    -ABRAHAM LINCOLN 1864

  7. Thanks, Tony. On Limbaugh, history sure will likely not treat him as such but, since only contemporary accounts of him and other charlatans have been written, we do not know what the future will bring. No offense, but Limbaugh and his ilk on the right are a disgrace. They are hypocritical, fear-mongering liars who continually smear others through falsehoods, breeding ignorance and fear instead of cultivating intelligent political discourse. The examples are painfully numerous, and I will not recount them now, primarily because I am in too good a mood to sully it with a recitation of Limbaugh’s hypocrisy and lies.

  8. Jason, I understand and I do respect you sir not just because we share a love for baseball either. I had a good week Yankees win Conservatism continues to ascend. You know it is not about personalities it is just no one with perhaps the exception of mark Levin can convey the Conservative message like Rush that good guy mid westerner who loves his country and is a humble man. I believe in the declaration and the constitution. We are the greatest most moral Nation on earth and I support people that articulate that and teach it to the masses whom are scared by public education and statists whom want to control humanity. Rush is nothing more then common sense good mid western American Values learned at his dinner table every night. His Dad did not drink the FDR cool aid and taught his family about our founding principles. Falsehoods? Not Conservatism it is the truth and not debatable. Liberalism is refuted by evidence.

  9. Tony, spare me the salivating over Limbaugh please. Humble? The guy who constantly cracks about having half his brain tied behind his back? Who talks about his inane plots gumming up the works of political opponents? Who routinely belittles and denigrates any callers who disagree with him? Limbaugh is a blatant hypocrite, calling for prosecuting drug offenders to the fullest extent of the law–all while being a drug-addled scofflaw. Oh, that’s right, drug laws are for black people, to Limbaugh.

Common sense? No, I’ve never associated that with Limbaugh, whose commentary is rife with blatant contradictions and falsehoods–whining about liberalism allegedly being based on emotion, while basing his generally baseless opinions on cheap dime-store psychoanalytical bunk meant to do nothing more than denigrate political opponents–with over-heated rhetoric. Common sense? Such as referring to political opponents as socialists and fascists, comparing them with Hitler and Stalin with no recognition of the blatant contradictions inherent in those puerile analogies? Ah, but that’s the point–to smear regardless of any inaccuracies. Limbaugh and so many of his ilk among the vast, vacuous right-wing punditocracy are frauds. Limbaugh, railing about the “liberal media” (itself a fiction and straw man, always has been) fawning over Mark Felt as Deep Throat as a hero, when newspapers–including the conservative Chicago Tribune which Limbaugh foolishly included in that group–describing Felt as a conflicted and somewhat flawed person, not as a hero at all. Fraud. Making up nonsense about media having a “social agenda” with Donovan McNabb, when it was nothing more than an excuse for Limbaugh to complain about a black quarterback succeeding. Limbaugh hating on women every single show. Limbaugh hating on workers, calling those working in jobs that get outsourced “stupid.” Limbaugh is an abject disgrace. And THAT is not debatable.

Yes, conservatism–any idea–is debatable, Tony. “Liberalism is refuted by evidence.” Really? Try providing some next time.

We have a variety of tickets to shows, concerts, and sporting events and would choose the links that are relevant to your site. We are open to a variety of other forms of advertising as well, including a banner ad and hosted articles.
