Just Mike, No Mad Dog

According to Pete Abraham via Newsday, anti-Yankee radio host Chris Russo is leaving “Mike and the Mad Dog” after nearly 19 years of working together with Mike Francesa and, from what I’ve read of the last few years, barely tolerating each other’s existence.  Personally, I could never stand either of them or the show.  Russo has never been anything but belligerently biased in his commentary about the Yankees, while Francesa has never been anything but condescendingly obnoxious.  Newsday is reporting that Russo is expected to get a show on Sirius Satellite Radio, while Francesa will be the sole host of the remaining show on WFAN.

When I moved from New York, I long ago said good riddance to them both.  Now I can say good riddance to the show that used to be “Mike and the Mad Dog.”  One down, one to go.
