Not only do pitchers and catchers report at long last today, but today is also the first day that single-game White Sox tickets go on sale.  I just picked up tickets for the family and me to see the Yankees on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2–my birthday weekend. They’re in the upper deck, along the first base side for Saturday and behind home plate on Sunday, but who cares.  Going is going, and we’re going.

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOVE baseball season.

Let’s Go, Yankees!

  1. great news! i just checked their website-the view from those seats looks super to me

  2. I too am very excited for baseball.

So Jason, since you are a basketball fan, which is better:

    61 points, 0 rebounds, 3 assists

    52 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists

It is pretty obvious to me. And Simmons expressed his opinion well on the subject.

  3. TIME TO GO STREAKING WITH JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Glad you got your tix. I’m going to Tampa and seeing a game on March 6th against the Tigers. Cannot wait.

  5. They’re not bad seats at all, Mike. I wanted to get seats for one of the games in the lower, non-outfield bowl, but couldn’t get four together. So be it.

Joe, you must be referring to the Kobe-LeBron figures. There’s no doubt in my mind that LeBron’s line is superior. With his 11 assists combined with his 52 points, he directly or helped produce at least 74 points not counting three-point plays and baskets–seven more than Kobe. Plus, hitting the boards for 9 rebounds is excellent effort, to Kobe’s zero. LeBron was all over the floor. I appreciate scoring, but all-around games are more crucial.

Tim, please tell me you’re not a daytime streaker. Even in NYC, that can cause problems. However, given that it’s pitchers-and-catchers, I’ll be sure to put in a good word with the city’s finest to get you released on your own recognizance, if necessary.

Jane, that sounds terrific. I’ve heard ST games are great to see, that the venue is good, and the players are accessible. Enjoy it.

  6. wiz–you might want to try the ramble in central park 😉

  7. The Wiz would draw more admirers than A-Rod at this point, Mike.
