Game 3: Yanks @ Orioles, 4/9/09

As per The Mighty Abe, below are today’s starting lineups.  It’s just two games and, unfortunately, two losses.  That said, the Yanks sure could use a win and some momentum before heading west to face an improved KC Royals bunch.  With the day game after the night game, Jorge gets the full game (no DH) off, moving Cano up to fifth.  Nady will DH for Matsui (0-5 last night, 1-10 thus far) against the righty Simon, with Swisher taking RF today.

Keys: The bottom third of Ransom, Gardner, and Molina needs to be at least decent.  Yesterday, the bottom three were 2-11 with 2 runs, a walk, and an RBI.  The Yanks can’t keep stranding runners.  Burnett has to be a lot better than Sabathia and Wang were, both for the team’s fortunes and to give the bullpen, which has already logged eight innings in two games, a blow.  How about seeing Mariano shut it down in a winning effort on getaway day?  Lastly for now, hopefully an RBI double in his last at-bat last night will carry over for Teixeira and the Yanks today.

I have class, so I’ll miss most of the game, but I’ll catch up later.  Enjoy.  Let’s Go, Yankees!
