Game 110: Red Sox @ Yankees, 8/8/09

Below, as per Pete Abraham, is the Yanks’ starting lineup. The Sox’s lineup wasn’t yet up at LoHud.  The Yanks look to keep it rolling, having won five straight and beaten Boston in the first two games of the four-game set.  C.C. must take the ball through seven and be sharp.  Hughes and Mariano should be available after short stints last night.  Posada has the day off after catching 15.  Be sure to stop over at Mike Fierman’s The Baseline for an in-game chinwag.  Now that Boston is on the ropes, put them down, Yanks.  Enjoy the game, everyone.

YANKEES (67-42)

  1. Hope you were somehow tuned in, Jason. Another shutout! 24 consecutive scoreless innings over the Beantowners. CC was fabulous. Nice to see Big Popup(c by Mike F.) struggling and Youkilis looking like a drunk out in LF.

  2. I did indeed, Mike–watched all of it. The family and I went out to a pool, then I sat indoors with the a/c, a few coldies, and some barbecued Italian sausage. I just posted a wrap above. Tremendous game.

  3. I love the Yankees. I watched the game on ESPN. It was intense and a nail biting game up to 15th inning. SOOOOOOOOOO HAppy that A-Rod scored and the yankees won!!! 😀 Thank God!!!
