Game 137: Yankees @ Jays, 9/6/09

Below, as per Pete Abraham, are today’s lineups. Jorge and A-Rod sit, a good move by Girardi.  After an extended rest, Mitre gets the start and looks to follow up on his gem against Chicago last weekend.  I’d settle for something decent and of length, say 6+ innings, especially with the double-header tomorrow. The Yanks look to go a season-high 39 games above .500.  This is the final game of what has been a very successful road trip, with the Yanks going 5-1 thus far.  They return home for what has become a ten-day home stand, facing Tampa for four starting tomorrow (including the rescheduled rain out), a day off Thursday, three against Baltimore, then the make-up game against the Angels Monday, capped by two against Toronto before a day off, and a trip back out to the West coast.  Get some runs early and often against Tallet, guys.  Enjoy the game, everyone.

  1. This game is insane, Jason. One “miscue” after another – whether they call them errors or not. It’s 4-3 Jays at the moment but I have no idea where it’s going. I don’t think Mitre will last long. Ugly.

  2. Mitre hasnt been great but 4 or 5 of the runs for the Jays are bad defence not him. Its 7-5 now.

  3. Sorry for leaving the HDLR last night Jason something came up.

  4. Insane and ugly is right, Jane.

You’re right on both counts, Nick. No sweat about yesterday. I felt bad about messing up your heritage.

  5. Goodness, what a train wreck this game and the 5th inning has been.

  6. Its ok Jason don’t feel bad im not bothered but whatever you do don’t ever call the Welsh(or Scotish, Irish) English they hate it.

  7. I try to pay a little complement to Mitre saying most of the runs were bed D. Gaudin in his place for next start please
