Game 150: Yankees @ Mariners, 9/20/09

Below, as per Pete Abraham, is the Yanks’ lineup.  Jorge is back from his three-game suspension, batting sixth.  Swish gets a day off, with Melky switching to right and Brett the Jet taking center.  The Yankees look to go a season-high 42 games above .500 by taking the series today.  They also look for Joba to follow up on his last good start with another.  I wonder, with Gaudin starting against the Angels, if Kennedy will step in for long relief today if necessary.  It would be good to see the kid and see him succeed after doing well in SWB, but being laid up for a while with the aneurysm in his arm.  I got on him good last year, but the kid has good stuff when he’s on, is just 24, and could well factor into the Yanks’ future. Hopefully Joba can go a smooth 6-7 IP regardless. Keep whittling away at that magic number, guys.  Just 13 games remaining.  Hard to believe, isn’t it?  Time sure flies when your team is doing well.  Enjoy the game, everyone.

YANKEES (95-54)

  1. Things are not looking to hot at the moment, Jason. What is with Joba?! I really don’t understand why he’s been so sucky. Am I missing something? It’s only bottom 2, so there’s plenty of time to get over this, but still. It’s perturbing to know he’s in the rotation right now. Ugh. Why can’t he get over this?!?! *whimpers*

  2. Joba has been a train wreck lately Lisa. Personally, if he is going to pitch like this, the Yankees should tell him to earn his spot for 2010 or be sent to SWB, and I’m serious about it. Stop coddling the kid.

Thanks for stopping by. I’ve been a bit busy lately and not around much.
